STOLEN

Louie is a male Boston terrier/French bulldog mix who was adopted from Boston Buddies by Paul, a man who already had Ellie.  Ellie was the apple of her dad’s eye in her pink jeweled collar and Paul was looking for a friend for Ellie.  Ellie and Louie became the best of friends and were doted on by their new dad.

On Friday, August 4, 2006, they were all on their way to Palm Springs when Paul stopped at the AM/PM Mini Market at the Baldwin exit off the I-10 freeway to get Ellie and Louie some water – he left Ellie and Louie in the car with the doors locked but the windows cracked a few inches for air.    While Paul was in the store someone reached into the window, unlocked the car, grabbed the dogs and took off in another car.

Witnesses were able to give a description of the two men who stole the dogs and the car they drove away in, but no one was able to get a license plate number.  The police were called, security camera footage was reviewed, a police report was made, posters were plastered throughout the area, a listing on Dog Detective.com was made and a large cash reward was offered for the safe return of Louie and Ellie.  

Months went by and there was no word on either Louie and Ellie.

Then, in mid March 2007 a Boston Buddies volunteer noticed a listing on Petfinder for a dog that they recognized as Louie.  The dog was with another rescue group and Boston Buddies contacted them and it was confirmed through microchip identification that the dog was Louie!  Louie had come to this rescue group through a chain of people and events.  Sadly, there was no word or evidence of what had happened to Ellie.

Paul, the man who had owned Louie and Ellie at the time of their abduction was too devastated over the loss of the dogs and decided that he was not in a position to take Louie back.

Louie was returned to Boston Buddies and we immediately took him in for some badly needed vet care.  Louie has found a new home with two wonderful people who also adopted Casey from Boston Buddies.  Louie is doing fabulously well in his new home and is being doted upon and cooked for.
